American Educational Research Association (AERA) 2021 Conference Presentation: Understanding the Digital Skills of Adults and How to Improve Them

Digital skills have become increasingly important in today’s world, particularly as more activities are being conducted virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This session will focus on the measurement of digital skills and strategies adults use to solve problems in a digital environment, the distribution of digital skills among U.S. adults, and the effectiveness of strategies for building digital skills. It will primarily focus on data and results from the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), examining PIAAC’s digital problem solving (or problem solving in technology-rich environments) assessment.
